The Donghai Bridge

The Donghai Bridge

The impressive Donghai Bridge is the longest cross-sea bridge in the world. The name means “East Sea Grand Bridge”.

The bridge was completed in December 2005. It has a total length of 32.5 kilometers and is connecting Shanghai with the offshore deep-water port Yangshan.

Most of the bridge is a low-level viaduct, but there is also a cable-stayed span at the bridge to allow the passage of giant ships.

I like bridges so much, because bridges are connecting something with something else and are bringing things together which were away from one another.

And this is really an amazingly wonderful bridge of modern technology.
